Urban Landscapes
Stephen Hay is a painter who explores the landscape of human life through his study of urban environments. On the streets he studies a landcape at various times of the day and in a variety of weather conditions. Then he brings all that he has learned back to the studio where his work moves into the realm of realism. His studio offers him time to explore a more in-depth study of a subject, allowing his paintings to develop in detail, light and form.
